About Hypnosis
What is Hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a safe way of connecting with your sub-conscious mind. However, a hypnosis session involves much more than passively receiving subliminal messages. You cannot help but learn more about yourself while experiencing a session. In fact you will learn about the power of belief, the role of spirit, the impact of stress and emotions on your life, how to learn to trust your intuition, how to apply focused motivation, the role of hidden saboteurs, the importance of loving yourself and much more.
There are many different styles and approaches of hypnosis. You may have experienced some of them already. Different approaches work with different styles of people and in different contexts. None-the-less, via a pleasant, guided, trance-like state, you will ALWAYS leave your hypnosis session feeling more relaxed, centred, grounded and more in control of your life than when you entered the session.
The human mind is like an ice-burg
The part that we are consciously aware of is like the ice-burg tip. The Conscious Mind only accounts for about 10% of our mind's capacity. It is used for our short-term memory, our decision making, critical thinking, positive and negative thoughts etc. The other 90%, the Sub-Conscious Mind, is responsible for taking care of a vast number of activities. These tasks include ensuring we continue to breath, regenerate skin cells, enabling us to heal from disease or injury and other automatic bodily functions. It is also the store-house for emotions, long term memories, learned skills, fears, phobias, habits, beliefs and reflexes.
How will it work for you?
By learning to access the Sub-Conscious Mind through Hypnosis, you are able to alter the programming that resides there. As well, the subconscious has a direct link to your ‘truth’ and some would argue it houses your soul’s ‘eternal blueprint”. Thus, as long as the material is being interpreted accurately by your facilitator, the work will reveal information about your past experiences and interpretations, - including psychological defences and resistances that have held back growth and progress previously - allowing you to receive profound insights that help you to re-evaluate stored knowledge, much of it years and even decades old, which may be contributing to belief systems and outcomes that no longer serve you. Your subconscious is then asked to accept positive and more up-to-date “modifications” to your thinking, dealing with stress, habits, pain or trauma, quality of life or reformed motivations. These modifications are simple and easily understood, however they are simply not arrived at as quickly – or at all - through conscious programming or willpower alone. Hypnosis as a healing tool goes to work to uncover these disparate or ‘interfering signals’ that come between what we want for ourselves and our experienced or lived behaviours. – Much like an outmoded computer file that we replace with an advanced version of itself -once it is uploaded, we get the improved results. That’s it in a nutshell.
